CMA Awards 2009 Winners

UPDATE #1- Country music fans are reacting to the CMA Awards 2009 winners, namely Taylor Swift’s three awards. CMA Awards 2009 viewers are split over Taylor Swift leading winners last night.

While fans support Swift’s wins, many readers Thursday morning are not happy with the CMA awarding Swift four of four awards last night including Entertainer of the Year. What’s the reoccurring issue being debated? Simply - is Taylor Swift country music enough to win a CMA, or is she is really just pop music?

Comments have included the following:

“Most of her music belongs on MTV. Most of the new artist claiming to be country sound pop to me. I also know Swift sells records to young people, that means money and money is the most important thing.”

Supporters are commenting say she is a “good influence” for our youth, but others say that has nothing to do with whether Swift deserves to win for country music.

“Everybody is just wind up on her because she is young and a good influence. but that has nothing to do with country music. the really country singers are george jones, hank, conway twitty and so on.”

But while supporters and skeptics debate Swift’s wins this morning, one thing might be more certain - viewers are very excited about Darius’ win last night.
